My gf says her IBM laptop hard drive has died, giving her some kind of "OMG YOU ARE FUCKED" message on a black screen when she tries to boot.

She hasn't brought it by for me to check myself yet, but if I end up needing to have a pro try to get the drive running long enough to get the data off of it (she never backed anything up ) is there anyone on campus that can take a look?
