Looks, like we're in for another long season... at least this year they have a new arena...
I hope we get some production out of May and that he isn't a total bust... the more i think about him he does have some potential if he can get over his height disadvantage... rebounders are valuable in the NBA...
hopefully Okafor stays relatively healthy again....
Brezec needs to step it up defensively and on the glass. He also should become more assertive offensively, he has a good inside game and set shot.
Hoping for a dramatic improvement in Wallace's jumpshot..
ALso hope to get something out of Voskuhl, he impressed me a bit two or three years ago in Phoenix

so not to rehash this debate again, but what was the conclusion as far as why they drafted may?
having a solid backup 4 is more important than a solid starting 3? 11/1/2005 4:37:48 PM |

i'm thinkin somewhere in the 23-28 win range, which isnt too bad. i've read some things that say the bobcats might use a starting lineup of okafor at center and may at pf when they go small. if they do that, may will certainly have opportunity to prove he wasnt a waste. i think he'll do fine as a rebounder, i just hope to see some offensive production from him cause i know he's capable. he immediately becomes one of our best post options because he actually has moves. hopefully okafor learned some things from olajuwon and can be a bit more of a threat on the offensive end.
i dont think we'll ever see the aggressiveness from brezec that we'd like to see, but at least now we have enough of a rotation of decent big men where we can afford to shuffle em around a bit.
voskuhl's not a waste, and i think he'll bring some experience onto the court. he's the odd man out though and i dont think we'll see much of him. 11/1/2005 4:40:52 PM |

^^well the theory is that its harder to find a good big man than a swingman, and they can get a FA swingman next year a lot easier than getting a good PF through FA. i agree with all that, but i dont know if may was worth the 13th, even if he was the best big man available. 11/1/2005 4:42:00 PM |

i think that okafur at 5 won't work out against most teams, he's a dominant 4, but would be owned by most centers i think but i guess i'll be rooting for them eventhough they got 2 heels

the thing i worry about with this team is...
we still dont have an elite perimeter scorer, an elite PG, or a defensive anchor...
its not really our fault we couldnt get howard and we got screwed by the pong balls... but still its frustrating... i dont wanna be mired in mediocrity when we finally do get some talent. 11/1/2005 4:56:46 PM |

tracer All American 13876 Posts user info edit post |
we definitely need to get a scorer at 2 or 3, but we can get that next year i think. for this year, it falls on carroll and jumaine jones, which is kinda sad.
felton has potential, but i dont think he'll ever be "elite"

yea i just hope they'll turn into bobcats fans rather than tarheel fans. and i hope they shake that knack of being fairweather fans that carolina fans tend to be.
cause this season could be ugly.

we had to lose at least 15-20 games last year that we led going into the 4th quarter....
we just dont have a guy who can make tough baskets at the end of games
even still, we shoulda held them to under 30 points in the 4th for gods sake... or put up more than NINE
Personally, Im ready to give up on Kareem Rush. He doesn't bring anything to the table except shooting, and his shooting is way too inconsistent for that to be worth it.

if brevin hadnt fouled out, we might've been okay.
for the love of all thats holy, stop goin to rush, he is not hot and he's not going to get hot this late in the game
i agree..when he's on, he's good....but he's just so rarely on. i'd be fine with him comin off the bench, but'd rather have carroll start at the 2 spot

Are you saying Ben Wallace is a 4? Because I think he's one of the best examples of a pure 5-spot in the NBA...
Or are you referring to when the Bobcats beat the Pistons last year without Ben Wallace playing?
Or am I missing something here?
I forgot the other loss to Charlotte last year, but Rasheed (their 4) wasn't playing that game, and the Pistons were seriously lacking depth.

look we all know we have a sorry roster this year...
im in this thing for the long haul.
The bobcats could have easily put together a roster that would win 35-40 games if they had wanted to sign guys like Stackhouse and Walker...
but, blowing 21 point leads in the 4th is not what i like to see....
if they wanna play hard and come up short thats one thing, but this type of losing can be contagious and turn okafor/felton into perennial losers.
in many ways im GLAD i dont have digital cable. These first two seasons woulda killed me.
I watched the Hornets every night go through three years of misery but i was 6 then i didnt know any better 11/3/2005 12:15:29 AM |

I don't think it's the same...Ben might not be as tall as some centers, but he plays like one. Okafor really doesn't seem meant for that position. 11/3/2005 12:33:43 AM |
