and I need that or ENG 333 for the spring in order to graduate...the only one open was in direct conflict with a core class I needed

I emailed the head of the undergrad English program and was told that nothing could be done for me because of funding problems...my best bet, I was told, is that several people will drop and I can sign up

Don't stress about it. This is a recurring theme every semester. Just stay on top of it with your advisor, and emailing the teachers of the sections that would work for you to let them know your interested. You'll get fit in somewhere, people are in your situation regularly, and you won't not graduate because of it. 2 weeks into the spring semester is the time to be worrying if you aren't in a class yet.

^ I'd bet that could be changed. Try talking to someone in your dept. and see if 332 could work as a swap.

Also, those 300-level ENG's are always taught in summer sessions...I took 331 during this past SS 2 through Distance Ed. If you could stick it out 1 summer session you could do it that way.

wait list it. Watch tracs daily. If you can't get it by start of school, attend and let them know you need it to graduate in May. Needing it to graduate next year, won't help.

take the online class... easiest, most decently enjoyable class i've had

I know a lot of people e-mailed teachers and they got them in in the past. Couldn't hurt to try.
