Lakers are playing surprisingly well as far as shooting. They'd really be up on Denver if it wasn't for fouls and turnovers. Hopefully that's fixed for the second half

im happy with the lakers performance. i mean 22 hours ago they were beatin the nuggets in thin denver air and to come out the next night (suns were off lastnight) and play the hungry suns tough is impressive. and the suns played great. u gotta love the play out of laron profit (maryland yuck) and smush parker. this game got away when odem and bryant sat out together large ammounts of time in the late 2nd and early 4th quarters and suns went on huge runs. if there was a stat of the score with kobe in the game it would be +lakers big time. i know phil was expirementin tonight with bench but kobes gonna need to play 40 minutes a game.

I know they're playing a good offense, but the D still has a lot to be desired. Without Amare, and they still get 122..?? Yeah, that's not great defense by any means.

I'm putting the blame more on Odom and the rest of the Laker frontline. After watching Denver get away with some 10 alley-oops last night, then watching a little more of the same in this game, something needs to be changed. They shouldn't be getting beat with those backcourt cuts so badly. Any decent point guard could hoist a good enough lob for any athletic forward to get. Transition defense is still bad...the forwards just aren't looking and paying attention. I'm sure that Phil will lock it down when they get enough down time for some decent practice.

I'm really impressed w/ Smush. I thought our biggest problem this year would be no good guard to play alongside Kobe. Now the biggest problem is our 7 footers who could make Greg Ostertag look good.
