on my computer. I have a relatively new machine that I built about 3 months ago with an A8N-SLI Deluxe mb using the integrated sound card. About a week ago I started to notice while I was playing music (mp3s from winamp) it sounded really distorted. Almost like when you overdrive an imput on an amp or something and get really well, overdriven sound from the speakers. Don't really know how else to describe it. Anyway, I took a can of compressed air to the case since it was pretty dusty and looked around for any physical damage to the mb, and then i reloaded the drivers. And to make sure it wasn't my speakers, I plugged in some headphones and it sounded even worse. Anyway, any suggestions would be apprecitated!

Thanks!

1) make sure you have the speakers plugged in to the correct port. Sounds funny by 2/3 it's someone plugging into the mike and hearing the feedback.

2) Try other speakers. Might be those speakers

3) Check the volumn control. You should see a speaker in the bottom right hand corner. If not just go to "Program Files --> Accessories --> Entertainment --> Volumn control and make sure none of them are jacked up full. If they are put them at about half.

update the BIOS

here:

and get latest driver (you mentioned re-loading it but no mention of it being newest)

here:

make sure you update the driver before the BIOS (some weird glitch if you do it the other way around)
