The Linux Users' Group @ NCSU will be holding this semster's Installfest this Saturday, Nov. 5th at 10am in Harrelson g108 (ground floor laptop lab - entrance at the bottom of the ramp).

Bring your hardware to install the distro of your choice.

There will be free doughnuts.

Yeah, gentoo's a bit out of the question in terms of an install, we don't want to be there all night.

This just in...

We will have a pxe netboot server with install images for:
Ubuntu Linux
rPath Linux
Fedora Core 4
Foresight Linux

If you don't like these flavors, bring your own!

Actually, you're wrong about the all night thing. There's plenty of time to do a minimal Gentoo install. Then you can install packages when you get home. We already have someone planning to do exactly that.

put slackware on that pxe server noobs and at least put some stage 3 gentoos on there with a packages cd for p3,4,amd64

^ Yeah, I'm pretty sure we've got at least one old hand at BSD.

^^ As I said, we've got one stage 3 gentoo install planned already. As for slackware, we can do it easily enough if you're interested (and show up).
