Anyone go to these or ever seen a session? What's the common practice as far as equipment goes... obviously I'll need stick/gloves/helmet, but should I bring everything else too? 11/7/2005 3:12:36 PM |

people commonly didn't wear shoulder pads...I can't remember what was required. 11/7/2005 3:39:18 PM |

i guess with pucks flying around it wouldn't be a bad idea to have pants/shin protection. 11/7/2005 3:54:01 PM |

typically the only requiement is helmet, gloves, skates. when i go to a stick puck i wear everything, but shoulder pads arent really needed. elbow pads not so much either. 11/7/2005 4:17:53 PM |

I just wear everything. It always turns into a scrimmage game and there is some ass clown who feels he has to play like its a tournament and start checking, slashing, or ripping slapshots into masses of people. A couple pounds of foam and plastic are worth not having some welts. 11/7/2005 4:49:39 PM |

Are the weekday lunch sessions pretty crowded? 11/7/2005 5:10:43 PM |

If you think there will be enough people to play a pickup game, wear full gear(minus shoulderpads).
Otherwise, just go with the essentials. No reason to wear pads when you're not doing any hitting.
EDIT: the weekday lunch sessions were empty when I went... if you're talking about the ones in Cary.

Ya, that's what i'm talking about. I probably will wear everything just to get a feel for it. The whole pants, socks, shoulder pads are a new thing for me. 11/7/2005 5:45:55 PM |

Weekday lunch in Cary is a ghost town. Fridays at the Reczone are A/B level pickup, 15-25 guys. 11/7/2005 5:49:41 PM |
