Did anyone see his show last night. I'm not sure if it was a rerun or a new epsiode but it had the hippy former president of Ireland and JOe Scarborough on it.

Great episode and finally Bill puts on a coherent and sane conservative.

The gist of the matter is that the irish lady kept saying "I'm a guest in this country so I don't want to get involved with local politics blah blah blah" then she would go on a bush bashing spree. This lady, well credentialed as she is, was the former chair of the UN Human Rights committee. She starts talking about the atrocties that America is doing and how we're blocking the UN human rights folks from gaining access to Gitmo.

Joe blows up. He says, "you didn't want to talk about my country's politics but you did anyway. So I'll talk about your organization. What right does the UN have to say anything at all about human rights when it lets Libya, Cuba, and the Sudan sit as members on the human rights committee? Why should we respect that at all? WHo are you to tell us that we're doing anything at all wrong?"

He goes off on her and it was the first time I've ever heard the crowd at Bill's show ever clap for anything a conservative said, although the applause was just a few folks.

Good show though.

joe was making an idoiot out of himself. the president agreed 100 percent. when she brought up the UN, she was talking about the human rights experts. just becuase many UN people are corrupt, doesnt mean they all are.

it still puts a damper on the legitimacy of the organization as a whole and legitimizes the "who are you?" attitude that the US has toward the UN.

I think the irish lady was making an ass out of her self "oh I'll take the high road and not insult the country of which I am a guest in GDUB IS THE DEBIL!" I found it highly hypocritical.

Joe was at least consistent (bashing the administration 2 times on issues they ought to be bashed).

yeah, lets talk a bunch of shit about the UN and constantly push for them to be disbanded just because they didn't fully support our actions in Iraq. awesome.

And here's why Abu Graib doesn't put a damper on the legitimacy of US claims it has anything to do with promoting human rights, dignity etc. 3... 2... 1... Go!!1

BTW, Scarborough was just a joke the entire show. I listened to him closely. Unlike Calrson from the previous week, Scarborough didn't offer a single coherent thought. Only the same mindless Republican babbling. Oh, the UN isn't perfect so it's ok for us to not let them see people who we will detain forever without even chargin them with anytyhing. Oh, Reagan was so awesome. He took a moral stand and the Soviet Union fell apart. Because a) if A follows B in time, it PROVES that B was the reason for A, b) countries have generally been known to fall apart when someone takes a moral stand, c) it's not like the situation in the USSR had been getting worse for quite some time, which is wel documented, and a final collapse was just a matter of time.

The former Irish President demonstrated she had so much more class, Joe should have just shut up and crawled under the desk.

That's not at all local politics. Lord knows we can't criticize another country for getting in our business when we are all up in everybody's business.

i like how you say "finally put up a coherent sane conservative." scarborough has been on numerous times, not to mention a few others who were "coherent." however scarborough's only valid points really were how bush MAY be viewed in the future alluding to prior administrations. he's still a close-minded conservative
