Skoda is owned by VW-Audi Group. Back when they were an independent manufacturer out of the Czech Republic, they made cheap, laughably bad cars, but after the VAG takeover their reputation has gone steadily upward. 11/15/2005 1:43:52 PM |

When I went to eastern europe after college, i rented a skoda...it was an older model, but still fine for the price we paid...the new ones are really nice, esp the octavia 11/15/2005 1:47:32 PM |

^^ah, that makes sense.
As to the Citroens, they've always made some innovative cars. The Citroen Traction Avant was way ahead of its time in the 40's, the DS was straight out of sci-fi when it hit the market in the mid 50's, the SM of the 70's was a cooperation with Maserati, all the way up to the XM of the late 90's. Unfortunately, quality and innovation didn't exactly go hand in hand. 11/15/2005 3:28:23 PM |

it makes perfect sense if you understand that the abreviation used for Aktiengesellschaft is AG, as it appears after every major german corporation. Volkswagen AG = VAG 11/15/2005 5:20:01 PM |

two dudes (DUDES) from my history class got really pissed today when I referred to the teacher of a woman's studies class as a vag. I was like damn I didn't realize you guys were so uptight... and the guy says "maybe you should learn to watch your mouth instead of telling us to lighten up. I'm not even a girl and I'm offended" 11/15/2005 5:20:07 PM |

nahh its about right well honestly i put the japs above the germans and insert koreans between the GB & french
jap cars are more reliable than german imho even though german are better to drive & feel expensive. once japs understand that all they need is more rwd & awd then they're golden
