Wake up and smell the freedom of speech in the air...

"Burn in hell, Mr. President

By DOUG THOMPSON

My first reaction when I read the transcript of President George W. Bush’s Veteran’s Day speech was anger. No, not anger. Rage. Blind rage.

How dare he, I thought. Not even the lowest, scum-sucking son of a bitch in politics would stoop to using a day to honor those who served to instead promote his lies-based, illegal, immoral exercise in mass murder called the invasion of Iraq.

Yes he would. George W. Bush is a pathetic, pitiless scrap of sub-human trash that lacks any shred of decency or morality. So why wouldn’t he desecrate the memories of those who serve our nation?

As a journalist, I’m expected to be dispassionate about events and those who shape them. But I cannot be so when it comes to Bush. He’s a liar and a traitor to the oath he swore when he became President of the country he now works so hard to destroy.

Bush is much, much more than just a bad president. He is a genuinely evil man, a raving lunatic who cannot face the fact that his insane policies have destroyed a once-great country called America. George Bush’s America is an arrogant bully distrusted by its allies, hated by most of the rest of the world and divided internally by his divisive, duplicitous actions.

I can no longer regard this maniac with journalistic dispassion. I may be a journalist but I’m an American first and, as an American, I cannot stand silent as a truly evil man destroys the country I love.

Polls show most Americans share my distrust of Bush. We all see him for what he is – a dishonest, opportunistic political beast who lets nothing stand in the way of his unbridled lust for power. He speaks of God at one moment and calls those who dare disagree with him “motherfuckers” the next. He has, without blinking an eye, sent more than 2,000 American military men and women, along with countless thousands of Iraqi civilians, to their deaths in a senseless invasion based on manufactured “evidence” and outright lies.

Then he has the gall to stand up on the day we set aside to honor those who served and continue to promote his lies and call those who see the truth traitors who aid the enemy.

Sorry George. Your lies don’t play here or with the majority of American citizens. It is you who has sold out your country, who is a traitor and who has committed treason against your office, your country and humanity.

God may one day forgive you for your sins but I cannot. Neither can the wives, husbands, parents and relatives of those you sent to die in your dirty little war. Neither can memories of those who served, those we honored on Veterans Day and those whose memory you so callously dishonored with your propagandist pap.

On second thought, I’m not even sure God can forgive you for what you have done. You have lied and you have killed and those are sins that even an understanding God may have trouble forgiving.

If there is justice in the afterlife, you will stand and face that justice for your sins. And may you burn in hell for them."

He admitted it was a rant. And excuse him for being passionate about something. I mean, this Administration has only lied over and over and over. They only lied and misled the country to trick us into going to war, resulting in the needless death and serious injury of thousands of U.S. young boys and men, the slaughter of tens of thousands of Iraqis, and the hatred of America all around the world. And then he has the gall to get up on a podium on Veterans Day and denounce war critics and lie again saying that they didn't mislead the country. No reason to get upset or anthing, right?

Wait. You mean those Niger Documents weren't forged? The Downing Street Memos don't conclusively show that they agreed to "fix" the intelligence in order to "justify" the war? Tell me it ain't so!

it is a rant, but i would have perfered a little more reference to the speech and clarification of what he was talking about. it's not like i read the speech first, and (judging from the text here) i've sure Bush is using it to put down people who opposed the war or something, but this was mostly a waste of time.

I sometimes wonder how teh L3ft manages to get themselves out of bed in the morning. Everywhere you look, they all sound like the French -- constantly bitching about our "once-great" country.

America was great before W, it's still great during W, and it will continue to be great after W. Stop hugging the tree, put down the frappucino and accept that you'd rather be here than anywhere else...

I think the focus isn't really so much on America as a country as it is on the ACTIONS OF OUR GOVERNMENT. We are talking about politics here, aren't we?

And the "liberals" (and true conservatives mind you) seem to be focussing in on the fact that Bush lied and misled the country to go to war, and that his administration is now proposing the use of torture, etc. So, I ask you, is lying to the country to trick them to going to war a "great" thing? Is using torture "great"? Was the response to Katrina "great"? Is having male prostitute "Jeff Gannon" over to the White House and having him lob soft-ball questions at press briefings great?

Oh, and it's not just the evil "liberals" who oppose Bush these days. Have you seen his approval rating lately? The MSM polls say its at 34% currently. In fact, the American public seems to be greatly (like that word?) dissatisfied with both the republicans and democrats. The phony left/right, republican/democrat paradigm is starting to crumble. People see that both parties are corrupt and do not represent their interests.

"Aren't You Nauseated Yet?

Washington politics reminds one of the old wheel expression, "On and on it goes, where it stops, nobody knows." Anyone who is a self-respecting, God fearing patriot should be not just be nauseated. They should be sickened enough to throw up, IF they have been reading and listening to real news.

We have an unstable lunatic running loose at 1600 Pa. Ave. Everyone should be terrified at the implications
:

No one seems to remember that GWB (supposedly -ed) has the Armageddon "briefcase" - the one with the nuclear launch codes.

No one seems to remember that GWB ended the long-standing US nuclear defensive-only policy.

No one noticed that GWB replaced the defensive policy with his own OFFENSIVE policy. This was never called for.

No one seems to notice that GWB couldn't care less for our poisoned veterans returning home.

No one seems to realize that all these dangerous powers are in the hands of ONE man, which can be coupled with fake announcements about any nation being a threat. And subsequently, declaring yet another war to kill our young men and women.

We could go on and on, but the small policy modifications to change the US to an aggressor nation is the same as moving a mountain of sand one grain at a time.

And what does Congress do - which is part of our world-famous system of "checks and balances?" Not a thing - situation normal. "

Wonder if this guy had a rant about the dead iraqi's under saddam... nope... so it's politics. He doens't care about the dead iraqi's. He cares about removing a president. It looks like he's the "lowest, scum-sucking son of a bitch" that he refers to the president as. He uses the dead iraqi's to promote his view.

This is my view on Iraq. Was it a mistake? Yes. We have found no WMDs. However, if I were President and the Brits came to me with intelligence that saddam had them, the Israeli's did the same, the Russian's did the same, and so did the CIA, then I would've made the same decision the President did. I can't fault someone for doing the same thing I would've done.

We're there. I think we have to finish the job and not put some sort of phony timeline on ending the occupation. I think that we can set conditions for winning and that would be our "timeline." Instead of saying, "June 6, 2006, we pull out of Iraq" we say, "When 75,000 Iraqi troops are trained and all major cities are under Iraqi control, then we pull out of Iraq."

And that's one piece of intelligence. One. There were dozens of sources saying the same thing. One turns out to be untrue.

That doesn't prove that GW cooked the books and made the intelligence up. This was british intelligence supplying us with that information. We still had the russians, other british intelligence, israeli intelligence, clinton administration intelligence, saddam's previous actions... on and on and on.

No, I don't think George Bush intentionally lied to go to war. I think he was given intelligence that turned out to be untrue. However, I can't fault HIM for that. If I were given the same intelligence, I would've made the same decision.

Now, he's turned his aim at Dick "go f**k yourself" Cheney:

http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_7679.shtml

Quote :
"A gutless, draft-dodging coward named Dick Cheney

By DOUG THOMPSON
Nov 22, 2005

The last thing we need in the increasingly bitter Iraq debate is a gutless, draft-dodging coward like Dick Cheney criticizing those who did serve their country.

The Vice President, who used multiple deferments to avoid serving his country during the Vietnam conflict, jumped into the fray big time last week and again on Monday with an acrid broadside against those who properly question the President’s motives for dragging the country into the bloody dead-end called Iraq.

“This is revisionism of the most corrupt and shameless variety,” Cheney said yesterday. “It has no place anywhere in American politics.”

Sorry Dickie boy, but it is you and your cronies at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue who have “no place anywhere in American politics.” It is hypocrites like you, you shameless, cowardly son-of-a-bitch, who should be led from the White House in chains and locked away in some hellhole to rot for eternity.

American politics is cursed with chicken hawk politicians who do everything in their power to avoid serving their country and then vote to send other Americans to fight and die for their questionable wars. Bill Clinton used falsified documents to secure and keep his student deferments in place. Congress is littered with false patriots, Republican and Democrat alike, who avoided military service. And the biggest warmonger of them all, George W. Bush, needed daddy’s connections to ride out the war at home in the safety of the Texas Air National Guard and couldn’t even complete that service.

But Cheney’s hypocrisy goes even further because his tirade on Monday was aimed primarily at Congressman John Murtha, the Pennsylvania Democrat who did serve his country, spending 37 years in the Marines before retiring as a colonel from the reserves and earning a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts in Vietnam.

[...]

Dick Cheney is a coward and a liar who represents an administration run by crooks and frauds. When I see someone like that criticizing someone who served their country in war, someone twice wounded on the field of battle, I consider the source.

And, in this case, the source is nothing more than white, lying, draft-dodging trash. To use one of your own favorite phrases, Mr. Vice President, we suggest you just "fuck off.""
