Chipper Jones is gonna restructure his contract to save the Braves 15 million over the next 3 years. Possibly 6 million next year alone. This lets Braves have a good chance of signing Furcal and Hoffman next year. Very excited. 11/17/2005 8:39:58 PM |

If he agrees to it, and as long as he makes the minimum salary, it should be fine 11/17/2005 11:01:40 PM |

Well if that is the case then clearly he should have asked to be traded.11/18/2005 12:02:09 PM |

^ you gotta try a littler harder then that. I mean I realize my obvious troll should warrant a response but that was just weak..
He is smart. His option was vested at 450 plate appearances and he knows his body is breaking down. With this he GUARANTEED himself 22M dollars not pending PA from what I can tell. COrrect me if I'm wrong..

Good team-first move by Chipper, even though I hate the braves. They could probably get hoffman now, but Furcal is gone. 11/18/2005 2:05:14 PM |

I'd hate to go the mets. everyone who goes there jsut goes straight downhill. Look at Glavine, or Beltran,..if furcal goes there, he'll bat 170 and get caught stealing 80% of the time.

^^ No you wouldn't. They would give you the best contract and you'd be happy.
You're a moron if you think 1 year of Beltrans 7 means he is a bust too. People are allowed to have bad years.

No, you're right. NO PLAYER is worth 119M. Not ARod, Pujols, and especially not Beltran.
He wasn't just a flash in the pan though. He is the ONLY player in MLB history to have the following numbers in his first 5 FULL major league seasons (his 2nd year he was injured and only played 1/2 the year):
At least 20 HRs, 100 RBIs, 100 R, 20 SB.. He is a good defensive CF, a great baserunner, and a complete player. He had a bad year. It's allowed... 11/18/2005 2:51:59 PM |

^Pujols is about to trump that in a year. His numbers are just sick. 11/18/2005 3:00:04 PM |
