This game is really good! Suprised no one's talking much about it, here or elsewhere. The ebgames near me said they suprisingly didn't sell that many copies. The game is great, amazing music + voice acting, huge overworld and most importantly, CHALLENGE. You get your ass sacked if you aren't careful.




Oh, and the FFXII demo is pretty tasty....albeit weird, it fights like a MMO

i just wanted to bring it to people's attention how good this game is so far. I'm 3 hours in and Ive wiped like 3 times. Wiping that much in the first dungeon is just unheard of for RPGs. Or rather, that type of challenge should be making its way back.

The characters might seem like dragon ball Z art similarity but their personality, voice acting, and the game presentation is not even a shred like it. I hate that shit, so I'm glad it pulls away.

You can sleep on this game but I promise you so far its fun as hell, although a bit LARGE, every mountain scape IS A mountain you see in the distance, it is full scaled topography/map.

Yeah, PS2 is definitely the only option for RPGs right now.

^^ That's actually really cool. The last console RPG I played was FFX and outside of the superhard special monsters you can fight towards the end of the game I died maybe twice. I can't stand that shit.

well for me at least it's now how a chracter looks that defines the experience, but how a character acts and sounds, his personality. So far, so good, thats all im gonna say. I'm not trying to personally hawk this game, but I'm very strict with RPG's and I'm tired of the run of the mill shit, this game makes me feel back to the feeling that made me get in to them in the first place. take that for what its worth!

Def. agree with you on this point.

I too thought that the DBZ look would bother me, but it really hasn't. The game is solid, and I enjoy playing it. I thought it was a bit linear, but like most RPG's I've gotten past that point and into where I can go and do different things.

The alchemy option is cool and adds a different option to the game that I haven't had before, which I really like.

I picked up DQ VIII a while ago and really enjoy it. I like how the quests are neatly delinated so that I can pick it up, play through one, and then take a break to work on other things. Graphics are beautiful, mechanics are solid, and the whole thing is just very neatly packaged together.

i liked star ocean ok - i thought the music was gorgeous. Some of the towns have the best stringed arrangement themes i've heard in a long time. Gameplay was good too, I was just annoyed that it was setup as a sci-fi type of setting but you spend almost all of your time on middle-ages/fantasy type planets. Kinda bummed about that ,but I would recommend it b/c its 19.99 new.
