I have resoldered the old power jack on the laptop and now its not charging, i have really no idea what i did wrong other than not soldering correctly or that i need a new power jack..also a spark came from the back when i connected the power and scared that crap out of me..can anyone please help me...iam on desparate need of "assistance" ... i have checked everwhere on the net but couldnt find pics of how to do it...even the wording is kind of vague...someone plz help.

what happened to the jack originally? was it ripped off the board by tripping on cord or something? If so, kiss your motherboard goodbye and hope that you have an all inclusive warranty that will replace parts for you when you do stupid things (don't take offense - i'm speaking from experience here. see message_topic.aspx?topic=187483)
if the jack was violently torn off, it could have severed some traces elsewhere on the motherboard that will not be reconnected when you soulder the jack back on. Furthermore, if the jack is souldered through thru holes in the board, it could be connected to multiple levels through the board that would be very difficult for you to reconnect to manually.

If a spark came out, then you probably shorted it somewhere by probably not doing a good soldering job. It doesn't necessarily mean that the circuit's gone bad, but you might've overused solder.
