there are cars without many cylinders that haul ass. i mean, my old car completely mauled a heads/cam/intake/exhaust Fox body Mustang one time, and did so with 1600cc

not hating on cylinders, but if it's fast, it's fast as far as i'm concerned.

and often, not having many cylinders affords you light weight

I know a dsm guy that ran his car on one cylinder. The other 3 have 0% or 30% compression. And he still makes 283awhp. He drove it for 6 months only on one cylinder then he decided, what if all cylinders were working? what kind of power would he make then? haha

i had a mazda miata not long ago that i'm pretty sure would completely embarrass that 455 Rocket.

and unless you've done some considerable work to it, my current 4cyl ride would walk it, too.


not hating...I had a '71 Cutlass (w/ 350 Rocket)...but the old muscle cars (with a couple of exceptions) really aren't that fast by today's standards--and that's coming from a fan and previous owner of Detroit muscle.

In the state I sold it your probally right, Its still alot of fun driving something with a ton of torque. something 4 cylinders has a hard time producing. And you are right,muscle cars wernt that fast back in the day. When you try to make them fast they loose driveability real quick.
