when i turned my computer on the other morning the settings for my screen icons got changed and i dont know how to change it back. the text boxs under the icons name is all one color and doesnt blend in with the background like it normally does. So i have this nice background with these icons with white boxes underneath it. does anyone know how to change it back? i have xp pro.

right click your mouse on any background --> a menu will pop up --> select properties --> "display properties" menu will pop up --> it's pointing at "themes" --> switch to "desktop" --> you can disable/reset/choose any background from there....

good luck

Yeah, go to where he said. the color associated with the desktop is what it will make the icon textboxes. chose a color that blends in.

Right-click on "My Computer", select "Properties", choose the Advanced tab, and click Settings in the Performance section. Turn on the Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop option, and click Ok.

I'll assume the "ok thanks guys" was in response to several PMs?

If ^ doesn't work:

Right-click on the desktop, choose "Arrange Icons by", go to "Lock Web Items on Desktop", un-check that.

ok you're welcome dbhawley
