Battlefield 2 demo will let you know what you've got. Games like WoW aren't heavy on graphics (thou they do look pretty) and HL2 is too old to really test. If you got a new rig and can run BF2 maxed out, then you know you've got something that'll keep you going for a while.

just because bf2 hogs resources because it's coded like shit doesn't mean it's a better gauge of performance. bf2 looks horrible compared to many games out there yet uses the most resources in its class. doom3, hl2, far cry, quake4, and bf2 would make a good set of demos to thoroughly test but I believe things like sysmark and 3dmark run demos with all the latest engines to do just this sort of the thing with a single package 12/3/2005 9:44:41 PM |
