Exculding the pro/con death penalty debate, I don't understand why this is such a major media issue. The guy killed four people and has never acknowledged that fact. He wrote a children's book about gangs, and a couple of other things and suddenly he deserves a Nobel Prize, and to be spared. He has never given information about the Crips, and has never encouraged other prisoners to give information because he doesn't want to be a snitch. Why then do these celebrities and media people want to make him sound like he deserves to live?

As to your question, there's nothing special about him at all except that the magnitude of his crimes is unusually horrible and he deserves to be put on the fast track to the death chamber.
