Ced has most of the tools... he just needs to develop a midrange jumper. he can't play 5 in the NBA, so he can't depend on good low post moves. 12/12/2005 10:38:51 AM |

I think its a little early to make a call on Cedric...
he's still raw....
If he sticks around all four years he's gonna have to show massive improvement... the NBA doesnt like 22 y/o big men unless they are polished, they are much more lenient with young guys.
I know the NBA (and MLB) scouts were very interested in Brackman last year.
I could def see Bennerman eventually playing in the league. He certainly has the athleticism to play at the next level. I'd compare him favorably to a guy like Dahntay Jones... i thinh he'll be in the NBDL next year at the very least...

Gavin has good size and speed. If he could keep improving his ball handling skills he would make for a good point guard although he can't really shoot the 3. Maybe this is out on a limb, but I believe before the injuries and illness, Tony Bethel could have at least got a shot in the D League as a point guard. 12/12/2005 12:17:22 PM |

Grundy was 10 times the player that Bennerman will ever be. He was first-team all-ACC as a senior, and finished 3rd in the POY voting. Show some respect. 12/12/2005 11:51:43 PM |

I'm sorry, Grundy was not that good. Please tell me you simply looked at awards to judge his talent. No one who forced the ball into traffic, threw up that many ugly shots, and made that many late game turnovers is a player worth revering. this means you too, Julius. 12/12/2005 11:55:51 PM |

Dammit you're an idiot. Grundy and Hodge were clearly the 2 best players that we've had over the last 7 years. For you to constantly bitch and moan about the occasional turnovers and mistakes that came with the scoring, rebounding, passing and defense that those guys brought just shows that your opinion is worthless when it comes to NC State basketball. 12/13/2005 12:03:05 AM |

Bennerman will make it eventually, Ced possibly, Brack if he continues to show bball drive(which is dwindling) and Shoosh could make a roster in a few years but will prolly go back to Europe where he can be a star. 12/13/2005 12:03:43 AM |

I'm not completely trashing them as players, but good lord, people need to stop fellating them like ESPN does to Vick and Favre. 12/13/2005 12:05:27 AM |

but if you don't see the talent Bennerman has, you're fucking nuts. problem is he doesn't seem to mesh with the system very well, and i think he gets a bad rap because of it. but once the ACC tournament rolls around and he hits a few clutch shots you guys will all start sucking his dick again...

Hodge's track record in the end of games is better than the rest of the team. Just about every player on the current roster managed to miss a potential game-winning shot badly last year. The common denominator in all of this is clearly Herb, who can't design a game-winning play to save his life. Grundy rarely touched the ball in game-winning situations. He never touched it in the end of the UCONN game 4 years ago, even though he was the senior leader of that team.
Hodge came through against UCONN, and he came through against UNC a few years ago. His game-winning shot % isn't great, but then again its not easy to hit a game-winning shot.

It is amazing how some of you are so biased towards our players making it to the NBA.
The only ones on the current roster that have a chance are brackman and simmons, mostly due to their height, and they have the potential to improve.
The rest either dont have the "potential" that the nba looks for, size (Bennerman), oft injured (Evtimov) or some just have yet to prove their worth (like Grant/freshmen). 12/13/2005 12:12:21 AM |

I am a big Bennerman fan, but he isn't even a regular starter on our team. He has more of a chance of making it on the and1 tour than the NBA. I went to high school with him and can honestly say that he only shows up for important games, IE ACC tournament his sophmore year and last year, and the NCAA tournament last year against UCON and UNCC. He hasn't put up any impressive numbers, and the only skill he can show off to scouts is his dunking ability. Unfortunately, there are a ton of guys his size that are good at dunking and are more complete basketball players. He either needs to grow a few inches, or learn how to handle the ball. 12/14/2005 12:15:39 AM |

I dont think you guys are assessing the situation properly.
The NBA is a game suited more to Cams strengths... athleticism, open looks, room to drive...
Keep in mind that Cam has never had:
A) a point guard
B) a good coach
I'd say he's at least 50-50 to make the NBA... I dont see him getting a 5 year $30 million deal anytime soon, but I think he'll make the league, whether its next year or a few seasons down the road. 12/14/2005 12:46:52 AM |

How many people that have been drafted, had these assets? Not many. They're not gonna draft Him (let alone) anyone just b/c how he looks(unless hes a 7 footer)and what he dosn't have around him. It is true that the NBA is suited towards his strengths, but 98% or the people going up for the draft already have those. He dosn't have what it takes to distinguish himself from the masses (dribbling skills, shooting abilities, defense) therefore he won't play on the next level. Im a state fan, but im not gonna be bias b/c i did attend the school.12/14/2005 9:41:04 AM |
