I agree.

I'd like to point out the latest Mets free agent signings have been far from busts, unlike the past.

Floyd just came off a career year and was HEALTHY! Pedro had a Pedro-type season; if he had a reliable bullpen/closer last year he would have had 20 Ws. Beltran was a disappointment, but he was hurt twice and will rebound nicely with a force like Delgado in the lineup.

It's not like these guys were Vaughn, Alomar, or Bonilla out there.

Was he worth 17M a year? Of course not.. no one is. The Mets paid what they had to get him and I am still glad. If you look at his career you would CLEARLY see 2005 was an anomaly.
