It would be nice if the code that generated the hyperlinks could be edited such that the text that was displayed in the thread was forced to contain a space every 60 characters or so. There are so many threads where a long URL creates the situation where you have to scroll sideways to read the posts.
Eg.:
[example]http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/15/politics/15cnd-program.html?ei=5094&en=0a4739ca3ab6d63b&hp=&ex=1134709200&partner=homepage&pagewanted=print&oref=login[/example]
becomes something like:
[example]http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/15/politics/15cnd-program.html? ei=5094&en=0a4739ca3ab6d63b&hp=&ex=1134709200&partner=hom epage&pagewanted=print&oref=login[/example]
Where the link functions like it would but the display forces it to fit without making the entire page a side scroller.

Well, if everyone went to tinyurl there wouldn't be a problem... but they don't. 12/19/2005 3:16:16 PM |
