they have heavier duty wheels, the suspension is more aggressive, firmer
may have additional bracing on the frame (?)

I wonder if they have tested a B4C Police Interceptor Camaro versus the stock Z28 Camaro. I've heard lots of rumors that they are chipped out and everything, but I bet they are just stock with less nice interior options and a bigger radiator/alternator. 12/25/2005 12:36:18 PM |

dohc engines? I've certainly never heard that one.

Ok truth: no crown vic ever got a DOHC engine Th einterceptors have a higher amp charging systems, Heavy duty springs(as opposed to alot of the civilian vics have rear air bags), heavy duty shocks, certified speedo, some have different rear end gears but it depends on how they were ordered, they have the crappiest of crappy interiors, no speed limiter,ticket writer light, relocated trunk release button, full szed spare, non-variable power steering, and some (alos depending on how they were ordered) idle at 1000rpm to keep charging with the accessories. Well it is true they do have true dual exhaust so do alot of regular vics. As far as heavy duty wheels....if the stock 16 inch steel wheels are heavy duty then yeh they have those.
They do have reinfored seat rails for long term sitting(not a joke) other than that they are stock as stock can be top speed about 138 without a lightbar, 132 with a bar... 12/28/2005 7:08:10 AM |

only way a crownvic got a DOHC is if somebody did it in the aftermarket, the only Panther chasis car ever to get a DOHC 4.6 was the 03-04 Mercury Marauder there was never a special order DOHC police interceptor and....even it is was somehow a owner installed DOHC, they have the same starter....same accessories...only different heads, timing cover intake...the blaock tranny everything like that on the SOHC/DOHC is the same

That Michigan State Police test was very informative, esp. when you look back at the older model years tested. Seems the infamous B4C in its factory form does NOT run like some high speed demon, but in fact put up stock numbers or damn close to it of a plain ass Z28. I guess I can show that to my coworkers brother who has a B4C and swears up and down it came from the factory chipped and modded and all this horseshit.
