I don't know what it is, except that it's old-school RAM and I need more of it. Most comments and information would be appreciated. 12/27/2005 12:01:44 AM |

About 5 years ago, I had a Dell computer that died after a year and a half, and they replaced it under warranty with a brand new computer. It was a pretty nice upgrade even though they didn't have to do it, 900Mhz -> 1.7Ghz, 40GB -> 80GB, and 256MB SDRAM -> 512MB RDRAM.
I remember them boasting about how good RDRAM was so I was like 'awesome ok.' 3 years later I found out that I needed some more RAM for my simulations, and I checked out some places for the costs of adding another 512MB. It was several hundred dollars. ] 12/27/2005 8:33:56 AM |

I would upgrade to a different platform if it was my money or buy a used machine that didn't use Rambus. 12/27/2005 4:48:29 PM |

My machine is fine for what I use it for, I'd just like it to be a little sharper.
^How do I "upgrade to a different platform?" Isn't that the motherboard? and uber $Texas? Or is that what you meant?

Ya, poor choice of wording. Possibly changing your mobo or scour ebay for memory. 12/28/2005 12:55:07 AM |
