eh, i hesistate to give him too much credit....
he lucked into Peyton Manning, a monkey couldnt have screwed that pick up.
He didnt draft Harrison, although he did get Wayne...
He drafted Edgerrin over Ricky Williams which I'll give him credit for.
He drafted Dwight Freeney way higher than everyone thought he would go, which turned out to be a great selection.
He also traded Marshall Faulk for a THIRD ROUND pick which was probably the worst trade of the decade as Marshall would go on to win MVPs and a super bowl in St Louis.
He still hasnt made a Super Bowl (although I like their chances this year obviously)....
I guess it depends on how much credit you give Dungy for building that defense and how much you give Polian... 1/2/2006 12:23:33 PM |

That kind of fell into their laps because the Eagles were stupid not to work things out with Simon...
It was a good signing to be sure, but not nearly as impressive as drafting Freeney 10-15 spots ahead of where many people thought he would go and then having him become a star. 1/2/2006 12:34:43 PM |
