Adobe Premiere Pro is my pick. Great file handling capabilities, fairly comprehensive set of features and good interaction with After Effects, Photoshop, and Encore.
I used it to put together a 25 short movie, and was really pleased with it. Be sure you have system specs for it though. If you want sharp looking text animations, then I recommend the latest After Effects. The text animation is leaps ahead of Premiere Pro.
