To all the EEs and CPEs that have taken 404, can you give me a few thoughts on how the class was...interesting? boring? extremely hard? Just trying to decide what to take 404 or 421 this semester. Preciate it. 1/8/2006 8:03:15 PM |

I haven't taken 404, however I have taken 421.
I've heard 404 isn't too bad and is actually a good course to take. However it all kind of depends on what you're interested in.
If you enjoyed the semiconductor physics part of 302 - then take 404. If you instead enjoyed 301 - take 421. 1/9/2006 1:44:55 AM |

Is Bedair still teaching it? I had it with Bedair and I can say that it was definately the hardest ECE class I had. The physics were pretty tough and the tests usually consisted of deriving the equations you needed to solve the problems. I had 421 with Alexander and while I got a lower grade than I did in 404, I thought the material was more straightforward. There was nothing that hadn't already been covered before in previous classes except some linear alegbra concepts. As mentioned already, take whatever interests you more. Both were good classes. Just be prepared to do more work in 404. 1/9/2006 11:37:25 AM |

I had Bedair........it was a bunch of math with impossible homeworks....but even if you got like a 40 on the test that was a C. A 65 was an A. Huge curve at the end but I didn't learn as much as I could have 1/11/2006 1:41:15 PM |
