is there anything resnet will do to try and eliminate packetloss?
im getting 11-12% loss when i try to ping anything further than 3 hops, 152.* is fine, but when you jump from 152.* to 128.*(NCREN) it drops every 5th or 6th packet. It's killing my latency in WoW...plz2help clevow =(

You should report that. You should not be seeing that type of packet loss.
Of course, you realize ICMP is a prioritized response on the routers, and if they already have a higher than norm CPU load, they will drop them. We don't see this at UNC. You shouldnt see it at NC State. Verify that others are seeing the same thing before you call. 1/12/2006 11:03:35 AM |

sorry, missed your post last night.
comtech has always said the packet loss some people experience is due to the bandwidth cap.
i have a meeting tomorrow where i will be glad to bring this up. if you could pm me your IP, MAC and location, that would help. thanks 1/12/2006 11:21:34 AM |
