Campout at State was the shit - then in '99 everything went to hell, it didn't help that there were 5,000 students camping out for 2,300 tickets and about 5 public safety on hand.

Campout can work at State, but the students and administration would have to make it work.

Ok seriously. There is seven threads about Duke on the first half of the first page.

Can we just start suspending Duke fans... and UNC fans. Just on principle.

things to reduce...

level of alcohol on campus (unpopular, but necessary if you want campout back)...
ability to create fires...
sg screwups regarding ticket numbers (how many disappeared in 99?)..
general increasing idiocy of college students...

things to increase...

cop patrols...
enforcement of tent abandoment rules...
power outlets...

get all of those done, then maybe you'll get campout back

Actually I like some Duke and UNC fans.. MOODY and StingrayRush know their shit but some of them are just absolutely intolerable.

Duke has a better setup for camping out - although they (undergrad) have to camp out a couple months vs. a couple weekends. They also had internet access (T1 outlets) to all the tents, but probably just have wireless now.

The bonfires are a seperate item from camping out at Duke - there are no fires at campout.
I am pretty sure alcohol is prohibitted during the week, but they are NOT a dry campus.
The engineering dept. had 2 kegs outside Pratt every Friday for the "eKegs" social - I was the only one getting hammered.

State should bring back campout - providing power and having campers know the ticket situation is very important.

Duke doesn't have a high proportion of Rednecks taking under 12 credit hours a semester.

If the administration was so completely against the Brentroad party they should have moved it to Hillsborough street - block it off from Dixie to the Belltower and let everyone have fun. Let RPD handle it like they do Alive After 5.

i think there's a little more to "handle" than just the crowd at AA5

and Brent Road would definitely have never worked on Hillsborough St.

WHo gives a fuck.

Campout is expensive and just flat out annoying for the people who actually have to do it.

This is one time I think the administration got things right.

I want to get tickets to games sometimes but I sure as fuck dont wanna have to spend one minute in cold weather to get them.

The online system is great.

I agree with this, but the voucher system also separated them to a much greater extent than the new online system does. Getting vouchers wasnt hard, but you had to put forth a little effort. I think the atmosphere at games this year has dropped off severely because of it and I think real fans are getting screwed because pansy asses are applying for tickets just because they can, and not going to the games.

Not that we've had many games that we should be pumped for yet this basketball season, but it was much more fun the last 2 years...even in the crappy games... when the people that really wanted to be there actually got to go to the games.

I dont really know why I just rambled about that...my point is online system sucks asshole and needs to die. thx
