^^ True, but those programs are below ours. I don't have any records in front of me, but I can venture. Prosser, Gary Williams, and Carolina Coaches during that time have better records. Heck even Florida State is close to ours probably.

If someone knows the stats please let me know, b/c i am just kinda guessing

We've consistently goin farther than them in the NCAA's, plus we've knocked them out of the ACC tournaments. In addition, look at them when they lose Chris Paul, and then look at us post-Julias Hodge.

They suck amazingly this year, we are pretty damn good. So shut the fuck up.

All I'm saying is put it into perspective. The past 2-3 years we've played Duke as tough as anyone...even Carolina. We play them better and better every single year as well. We're getting better...

Jimmy V did nothing. Ask the NCAA.... about all 3 of their separate investigations that found absolutely nothing wrong with his program.


NandO killed our program. Not Jimmy V. V was fired becuase NandO made ridiculous claims that weren't true.... ruined V's image... and we asked him to step down becuase he had a bad reputation (becuase of NandO). Point the finger at them if you're going to point. V did nothing wrong

B) Duke
C) Wake
D) NC State and never be recognized in the national spotlight because we cant play on TV

This is also the reason alot of the rural people and people from other states became more tarhell fans and turned from state in my opinion.

I am a huge critic of Herb and his offense... but this was about the best game I have seen from state in years... there were patches during the game where we looked ALOT better than duke, duke just has a killer team this year and hit the shots when they needed them. I give our guys alot of credit and it pisses me off now more than ever that we dont have a home game against duke

Okay, aside from the David Thompson blessing... when have we ever been able to outrecruit UNC? There was a time when we outrecruited Duke, but they now have possibly the best coach in NCAA basketball history coaching them.

Oh, and I'd much rather go to State than Wake.

Alright... so lets try this list. Make me a list of teams who basketball recruits would rather go to than UNC or Duke. (Hint: It's gonna be a short list... as in, blank).

As far as UNC fans.... no, people are UNC fans becuase they've sustained dominance for the last century, they're the second winningest program of all time, Michael Jordan went there, and becuase NC state has only shown flashes... not sustained it. State wins for the next 20 years, maybe we'll see some more fans. Firing a coach isn't going to change that overnight

As a perennial Herb critic, I couldn't be more proud of this team. Moral victories suck, but the offense is becoming more fast-paced, we're at least getting somewhat more consistent, and we just lost to the best team in the country very very closely.

^^agreed.....shit we only made 2 or 3 three's the hole game.........the fact that we only lost by a legitimate 6 or 7 points is fucking god damn amazing. Ced just about dominated williams down low and we scored almost all of are points in the paint. I cant remember the last time we played a team this good where we lost by this much and shot so poorly behind the arc.

It's a lot more pretty when we lose an inside game than it is when we shoot enough bricks to build a damn hospital.


When we used to run the "OMF 3 OR DIE!" offense, I couldn't watch. We really needed a big man.


Enter Cedric Simmons. Herb needs to hurry up and find his replacement. He'll be gone after next season.... and we need to continue an inside game. For once in Herb's tenure (aside from the Powell years), we're two dimensional.

You can only win as a dual threat team. That's the main thing I used to beg for when I was so hard on Herb. Please continue to recruit the big men, Herb. It makes us a much better team.


3 years ago, K would have packed it in and beaten us by 30. This year, they respected our 3's, and Cedric tore them up. That was the main thing that jumped out at me tonight. Great game by the Pack.

He took a bad program and really loaded us up with talent.


He can't make use of the talent though.

I'd be all for letting him serve as an assistant coach, or even the Athletic Director (since its time for Fowler to go) but to keep him on as head coach is just senseless.

We've been stuck in the mud for awhile now and its clear Herb doesnt have 4 wheel drive.
