The 13th overall pick in this year's NBA draft, UNC's Fat Dump, has undergone knee surgery that will end his season. When asked about it, Dump responded "Felton was a good draft pick but they took the marketing thing too far when they drafted me." Dump is expected to have even fatter knees next season. 1/20/2006 9:43:50 AM |

They must have stopped feeding him cheeseburgers. That, or they fed him too much that his knees exploded from all the pressure from the rest of his body. 1/20/2006 10:00:51 AM |

They wanted Villanueva from what I've read but he was picked a LOT higher then they thought so May was the backup plan.. sucks for the Bobcats.

That Villanueva picked shocked me...
but hey, it's the Raptors. Nothing they do should be surprising. 1/20/2006 10:04:56 AM |

I went to the Toronto @ Charlotte game a few weeks ago...Villanueva definitely owned that matchup 1/20/2006 10:12:40 AM |

Fat Dump is like rookie of the year in NBA 2K6. Why can't real life reflect video game performance. 1/20/2006 10:17:03 AM |

Yea Charlie started out REAL GOOD but he is in a bit of a funk right now.
Definitely played better then I and most others expected. You could tell May was going to be a dump though. He is undersized and not terribly athletic. I haven't watched much pro bball this year but I assume that Charlie is better now and has more upside.
How is Felton doing this year? 1/20/2006 10:17:09 AM |

Felton is doing pretty well...Brevin Knight has dealt with some injuries so Felton became the starting PG a little earlier than originally planned...he is solid though...definitely has the athleticism for the NBA...might hit a rookie wall but hasnt yet 1/20/2006 10:22:03 AM |

Knights injuries have been fairly small and havent kept him out of the line up for many games at all. In fact, Knight is leading the league in assist:turnover ratio, and he is having one hell of a season. He just had 15pts 15 assists, and 5 steals on Tuesday? night.
Felton is starting moreso because of Rush's injuries than anything having to do with Knight. Bickerstaff likes what Knight and Felton bring when they are on the court together.

knight has still missed a good 6 or 8 games this year
i personally dont like playing knight and felton together...at least not against new jersey when either kidd or carter or jefferson would just back one of them down...course yeah, they had to do that when rush and bogans were both out 1/20/2006 11:34:25 AM |

they'll be starting together tonight when the Cats play the Magic.
of course, Jameer Nelson and Stevie Francis are not Kidd and Carter, but our boys will get the job done. 1/20/2006 11:40:56 AM |

i have a feeling bickerstaff hates starting felton. from what i've read he loves him, which leads me to believe he wants to give him limited minutes to allow him to adjust slowly and avoid the rookie wall. i think knight and ely are probably good trade bait, and bernie doesn't mind the losing so he can get another lottery pick next year. the ideal situation is he trades knight and ely, gets a lottery pick, and resigns as head coach to concentrate on GMing 1/20/2006 11:45:29 AM |

I'd kind of like them to keep Ely. He has shown he can play when he gets the chance this year. 1/20/2006 12:00:25 PM |

I like Ely too...he's probably our best offensive post scorer...better offensive post moves than Emeka i think...would rather trade Knight...however I like Felton/Knight a lot better than Felton/Burleson 1/20/2006 12:09:48 PM |

Knight = 3rd in the league in assists.
I'm telling you, if we trade him now, unless we are getting something outrageous, its not worth it.
It looks like the most interested team is Memphis b/c Stoudamire got injured, but i dont see anything that they have that we really need, unless it was Mike Miller or Pau Gasol 1/20/2006 12:18:02 PM |

I am surprised that Brevin has actually turned out as well as he has. I thought his brother Brandon would have been better. Those were some pretty good Pitt teams that the younger brother played on, even though they seemed to bow out kinda early in the tourny. 1/20/2006 1:29:18 PM |

I think over the long run Felton will turn out to be a better player than Paul.
Paul was just more NBA ready at the time being. If you look at the last half of the season you could argue that Felton was just as good or better than Paul. 5/3/2006 11:27:12 AM |
