refs suck whether we win or lose.

today the refs must've been from the NBA because they were not making any travel calls.

plus, they made Ellis the whipping boy for Williams. from where i was sitting, 3 of his fouls really belonged to Williams

well, it wasnt great, but I am pretty sure that some of you were the same ones screaming murder at the Iowa game when we were called for 7 fouls to their non. It was almost the exact same way in the second half.

the refs did a good job. some of the calls looked bad at first, then they showed instant replay and you could see it.

There were more missed calls than anything, and even if they did a better job in the last 10 minutes, that doesnt make up for 30 minutes of the worst officiating I've ever seen.

what about when one of the wake players blatlantly pushed their defender (evtimov?) and there was no call. that was some pretty shitty officiating.

I just can't stand how they so blatantly watch the foul count. When it gets uneven, they choke on their whistle on one end and then call ticky tack crap on the other.

Also, for those who watched on TV: There were a couple of times when it looked like Wake players took a swing at some of our players. What exactly happened?

there was one layup out in the open court by the wake player where he clearly took 2 stutter steps then a final 3rd step to finish off the layup. it was clearly a travel, but as the years go by slowly the idea of dribbling will continue to be a thing of the past.

I dont think I'm blaming anyone. If we lost, I would blame, but I'm just pointing out the fact that these officials sucked. I could give a fuck less now since we won, but they tried hard to give that game to Wake.

Everyone knows that these referees were horrible...thats all there is to it. If you think these referees did a good job, then you obviously have never watched a college basketball game before.

winning/losing wasn't an issue as said above. i think both NCSU and Wake fans would agree it wasn't a very well officiated game. i always judge by how consistent the refs are, not the calls they make. these refs were all over the place, calling travels that really didn't seem to be, not calling others, and calling fouls that weren't along with plenty of obvious no calls. i think most people can agree that it isn't the calls that are made, but that they are consistent to both teams and this wasn't the case today.

Its almost like they knew they fucked up by missing a bunch of calls, then tried to make up for it by making calls that werent really there. Thats what frustrated me so much, and it really killed the flow of the game.


BTW, Prosser is a pussy. He got every call in the first 15 minutes of the game today and still bitched every time something didnt quite go his way. He should have been T'ed up 2 or 3 different times for arguing and running on the court...but at least we gave him hell.



Also, you know an officiating crew sucks balls when the coach argues a call, and they actually listen. On top of that, they argued back. THat goes against every fucking code/rule they have. Its ok to explain a call, or at least pretend like you're listening, but when you argue back????????//what the fuck?

Yep. Duke Edsall. He was the white referree out there today. He has been terrible for several years now. It's a toss-up between him and Karl Hess for worst or most-biased in the ACC.
