so my roommates and i have have a wireless network. 1 router, 2 USB on a cord wireless adapters. we have lived in 2 places with no trouble. just moved to the 3rd and it isnt working.
place 1) i have router, they have USBs, works fine. used MAC filter
place 2) another guy has router, myself and another have USBs, works fine. use WPA and MAC filter. no problems.
new place) i take router back, they have USBS, their wireless connection drops every 5min and reconnects. also their wireless icon in the systray often shows the 'X" even while theyre are on the internet.. we have tried all combos of security and it is currently wide open w/ the same problems.. i tried channel 6 and 11 on teh router.. no change.. when the systray icon does work, it shows fine signal strenth...
any ideas? 1/23/2006 10:05:58 AM |

Try changing the channel, and make sure no one has internet connection sharing turned on. 1/23/2006 10:29:46 AM |

1) have you reverted the router back to factory settings and tried it from there? there should be an option for factory or default settings in the router config area
2) upgrade the firmware 1/30/2006 1:41:11 PM |
