It really sucks for Costner that he hasn't gotten better because you know he was probably looking forward to our game with Seton Hall more than any other this season.

i'd say redshirt him, his bench presence now isn't as crucial as having him for 4 full years is

Yeah, there's no rule that you have to "declare" a redshirt beforehand. You just don't play. The only question is whether he'd be eligible for a medical redshirt after playing 5 games.

^No, he was hurt in an exhibition game. Levi Watkins played a little bit his Sophomore year and didn't get one so Im not sure if Brandon can or not.

hardship waiver is the actual term that everyone refers to as a medical redshirt

so 20% is good as long as we play 25 games or more. so we should be fine?

How could Fells be redshirted? He's not injured is he? You can only be redshirted if you don't participate in any competition for the season...that is of course different for a medical redshirt (as quoted above)

Maybe Herb knows something we dont about Fells. It could be just a big conspiracy to keep him under the radar for next season, and when nobody expects him to do shit, he's going to tear it up

I'd be more worried about Ced leaving than the others.

Why?

If you look at him on the sidelines, he looks pretty happy at the moment.

And he will definitely get minutes next year.

Powell was not happy here, everyone knew that

not heard anything similar about Ced, he seems to like Herb/NCSU/Fans/School

I have no inside knowledge.

But Fells would eb stupid to transfer, there are talented upperclassmen above him. Train, get better and wait. Next year he will be coming off the bench, the following year he should start. It is a no pressure situation similar to Grants. Get used to the system, get some playing time in and not get in "trouble" for mistakes.

If I played the 5 in college, and was thinking about turning pro early, I would make sure I put up 20 and 10 on most nights in college. That is unless you want to take the Powell route, or develop a jump shot that forces the defender to extend.

I disagree, the State back court has not been productive in a couple of key games and a guy like courtney would have provided an energetic spark (think Brackman last year) for the team. Fells is an athletic freak with exceptional passing skills.

i guess Cam and Engin's last game doesn't count as production?

The team chemistry is great, and NC State is off to really great start, don't get me wrong.

But it does seem worth a try, maybee he will be worked in slowly, maybee not. State has one of the most solid backcourts in the country, so i am sure that fells gets the idea.

I wouldnt mind seeing Fells in a real game just to see if there is something special there. maybe tonight?

But I have to think Herb knows what he is doing with the kid. If he cant play D, he really cant play for us.

Fells is an awesome offensive player

He can't play a lick of defense

As soon as he learns, he'll get his minutes.

He knows this
