Um, no. Villanova is NOT overrated.

Was Duke overrated because they got played close to a crappy ass VT team that lost to Bowling Green? No.

Teams have bad games. This isn't some new novel thing that a team have an off night. They aren't overrated one bit.

Boston College? Maryland? Wake Forest? Syracuse? Louisville? Those are some overrated teams.

NOT Villanova.

Villanova is somewhat overrated because they are more or less untested


If they played more real teams it would be easier to analyze them.

Do you see me boasting about Gonzaga? Gonzaga was much better when they weren't as well known as they are now, they had more drive then and were capable of suprising teams. Now Gonzaga has alot of talent that goes sour during conference play due to a lack of any real competition. By the time they hit March they have forgotten what its like to play a real team. Put Gonzaga in a better conference and they would probably lose 5-10 games a season, but they would be much better come March.

They've played 5 Top 25 teams. Beat 3, lost by 3 to Texas, lost close to WVU.

It's not like they have played a bunch of mid-majors.

Given the other teams and records around them I don't see how anyone can justify calling them overrated..

So you admit the WCC is shit? It's about time people realize this. Maybe their 1 point win over San Diego was just that impressive. Or the 9 point win over the powerhouse of San Fransisco.

^ Yes I admit the WCC is shit, I hate the fact that the zags are stuck in that conference. And yes, they were lucky the other night in squeaking out that three pointer to win against San Diego. I would much prefer they finish #2 or #3 in another conference where they are playing more often against other NCAA capable teams. They always start the season off with a good OOC schedule but then their conference just kills them while boosting their ranking since they aren't winning. All it does is make them look more over rated when they lose early in the tournament.

They won!! How am I blaming anyone for anything?? I don't even like Villanova. I just recognize they are a very, very good and talented team who is my favorite to win the Tournament should Sumpter return..

Don't get me wrong, Nova is good, I just don't think they are top 10 worthy. But then again, this is a season in which I think any team can beat anyone else, which personally I've enjoyed because its made alot of games alot more competitive.

I didn't see this game, but up until this point nova has looked like a top 5 team. Sounds like they just had a bad game.

People should learn to stop overreacting, especially when you're not familiar with the teams. South Florida isn't going to contend for the national championship, but they've been holding their own lately against some solid teams.

You can't expect the top teams in the country to blow out every single team, especially when playing on the road. By no means did this game, the Rutgers game or any other game Villanova has played this season show that Villanova is not a national championship contender. They're an extremely athletic team that shoots the ball well and has a lot of weapons. Jay Wright is a great coach and their only real weakness is their size, something that they've been able to overcome this season.

Villanova is NOT overrated. Neither is Duke, Texas or UConn. Maybe not even Michigan State. Gonzaga, yes. Louisville, definitely.
