Quote : | "The Palm Beach Post has a look at Tiger's new lair. Tiger Woods has paid around $40 million for a 10-acre compound on Jupiter Island in Florida. Although the price is a record breaker for the area the most interesting thing is that Tiger may tear down the main house. The property extends from the Intracoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean and includes four houses, the main house, plus two guest houses and a beach house. There are two boat docks one of which may be the new home for Woods' 155-foot-yacht, Privacy. The Post also says that while Woods is welcome on the local golf course he might not be invited to join the Jupiter Island Club because of his fame and that the same goes forCeline Dion who also bought in the exclusive community recently. The area is home to several other golfers including Greg Norman and Nick Price." |

ESPN said it was $38 million.
Either way, that's just nuts. No way one couple needs that much house.
If I was as rich as him, I'd buy a $10 million house and do something entirely more productive with the other $28 million. 1/26/2006 10:55:41 AM |

yeah they said he always wanted to buy a house with his golf earnings if he ever was successfull...
i think his monthly payment (if he had a 30 year mortgage) was supposed to be around 170,000? a month... that's nuts 1/26/2006 10:57:48 AM |

as sad as that would be, it would indeed be funny
But unfortunately, every insurance premium of every citizen in America would go up to conpensate the insurance it'd cost to replace that, haha 1/26/2006 11:15:16 AM |

I have a feeling they may let tiger woods play at their golf club, what a crock of shit, the dude could write one check and buy the fucking golf club if he wanted, would be hard to hold a guy like that out!
Looks like a sweat complex for tiger, the dude cleared more than 100 million last year... would be nice to only have to spend 1/3 of your yearly income on a 40 million dollar house
Still not as crazy as that dude in the Hamptons building the 100 million dollar house... 1/26/2006 11:35:21 AM |

he will make another 100 million this year and the next and he will forget how much it ever cost....must be nice 1/26/2006 11:49:06 AM |

WHy would he buy it straight cash?
Thats just financially stupid.
If he's not retarded he'll put 20% down and take out a 30 year mortgage.
Unless he just doesnt want the hassle of making monthly payments... which I could understand. 1/26/2006 8:16:36 PM |

They broke it down on Sportscenter last night. With a down payment of 7.5 Mi they said his monthly payment would be around 177,000 a month over 30 years.
Also they said that since he became a pro he has put all of the money he won playing towards his "dream home." He has made 55.7 Mill since he turned pro. He hasnt touched his prize money till now and still lives the way he did before. THAT is dirty. 1/26/2006 9:44:33 PM |

Hahaha you think Tiger sits down once a month with the check book to pay his bills?
More like he* put the money down, keeps the rest of it in CDs,T-bills, etc.-- makes the payments with the interest on the rest of his money.
