Which one would you chose if you had $27,000 to spend on a used one?
Yes I could get something faster, newer, and/or cheaper for the money...I'd really want a M Coupe...specificly this one but I hate paying the premium...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-BMW-M-COUPE-RARE-S54-25K-MILES-Z3_W0QQitemZ4608312765QQcategoryZ6131QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem 2/2/2006 3:29:47 PM |

Don't get a V6 Audi A4, ever. The 1.8t is a much better choice, with software it will be dramatically faster then a V6 ever will be.
Besides that I would go with either the BMW or Porsche over an A4 2/2/2006 3:44:14 PM |

the boxster (even the s) is a gay girls car, the s just happens to be a gay car with some performance probably get the bmw over the audi 2/2/2006 3:49:13 PM |

definitely boxster S or 330ci....audi's aren't as reliable...glorified vws? comes down to if you need 4 seats and folding back seat for more cargo space..... or if don't care about passengers and hauling stuff
i compromised and went with the two door bimmer.
but what do i know...and i'm sorry if i offended anyone 2/2/2006 3:56:47 PM |

Boxster's are bitch cars and all my friends with recent Audis and Volkswagons have had as many bullshit problems as I have had on my 18 year old rx-7 2/2/2006 4:07:05 PM |

Boxster S would be my first choice, though it's a tough call with the M coupe in the mix. 330 is a great car if you want 4 doors but it's not a true sports car like the Porsche. Ahmet 2/2/2006 4:46:41 PM |

Boxster S if you want a soft top and can deal with the two seater. 330 if you want more room.
A4? Was that put in there as a joke? 2/2/2006 4:49:23 PM |

Ahmet All American 4279 Posts user info edit post |
Ah, the coupe specifically... Well, I wouldn't buy any sedan with 2 doors, but especially not an e36/46. The car was engineered to be a 4 door, why pass it up (just to deal with longer doors, harder access to the rear, and ugh the frameless windows).
The choice becomes much easier, but the M coupe is one special little BMW. Ahmet 2/2/2006 4:58:27 PM |

boxster s is the most 'sports car' probably fastest and most fun to drive.
bmw is probably the best balance of sport and utility.
then audi which is probably the nicest, but heavier and less sporty. AWD is slick 2/2/2006 5:16:10 PM |

You'll have to show me on that one. When I first got my 330ci, I was on the highway (having a lil fun) with a rx-8 and uhm dipping through cars he wasn't too much competition. Either that or he sucked as a driver. 2/3/2006 8:15:17 AM |

Don't want an RX8, rotaries suck. Don't want an S2000, the motor just felt to busy doing normal interstate driving. I'm looking for more of GT that will be comfortable and fun on long trips. Hey Grizzlyone how much faster can the 1.8T be w/ updated software...I like its fuel economy.
Oh and 2l8iwon, your roadster looks nice. I like the color and the hard top. Are you dead set on that price?

forget about the 1.8t. its crap. my friend had an a4q w/ a chipped 1.8T and it was still crap. the V6 might not have the peak numbers of a modded 1.8t but i'm willing to bet it has a lot better response and would be easier to live w/. but even if its close, its not enough motor for that car. really nice car, but was no fun to drive.
if you want a GT, id still look at the 330ci. although the Audi does the touring in style very nicely.. just not quickly and responsively 2/3/2006 9:04:50 AM |

Boxsters are pretty long legged cars, and quite quiet at higher speeds/on the interstate. I would kill for an S60R (especially a wagon), but I'm weird like that. If you haven't already done so, I would recommend a test drive in one. It'll outhandle most cars out there, but ofcorse it's not a sports car (they ARE fun though). You can pick one up that's a couple of years old for quite the discount. Starts with 300hp, and unlike the rest of the cars in your line up, a fairly reliable 360+hp/ft-lbs is only a couple of small bolt ons away. Ahmet 2/3/2006 11:39:54 AM |

S60V70STAGE2 - 420hp S60R/V70R Stage Two Package 420hp S60R/V70R Stage Two Package $6,499.00
thats awesome... someone makes an upgraded turbo/software package for 420hp
after that people claim reliability is greatly effected.
and isn't the v70r the wagon?
