are the refs always this bad and its just being made more public this year, or is it like the worse reffing year of all time? seems like a game can't go by now w/out the refs being called out... in more then just basketball i'm talking.

all the bad college basketball calls of late come to mind, all the state games i've seen this year have been bad(for both teams), super bowl, indi game, texas vs. USC...

The guy blocked it. It was all ball. Even the announcers pointed it out. The ref that called it shouldn't have called it b/c one, he had an obstructed view, and was far away from the play. Also a bs play like that shouldn't decide the game. The refs gave it to Gonzaga. It should have been decided by OT.

^^^you understand that the ref that called the foul was outside the 3pt line on the other side of the court with an obstructed view and that the defender got all ball? if its that close, you generally dont call a foul with .5 seconds left and basically decide the game, ESPECIALLY if you cant really see the play.

well hey, i didnt see him get any arm, and neither did anybody else in this thread or announcing the game it seems, but if you saw a foul, then i understand your opinion. i did not see a foul, and, while mistakes happen, its ridiculous to call a foul on something so questionable with .5 seconds in the game.

i dont care if he did get fouled, there is no way that you can catch the ball, bright it across a plane of 3 feet and then shoot it in .5 seconds....NO WAY

its known u cant even just touch the ball and shoot it with a tip in with only .4 seconds

They have monitors right in front of them that allow them access to replays. These are often times the same type of monitors that are used by the refs to review the play. Now if they can see it and the refs can't then there's a problem. The announcers for the most part know the game and the rules in and out. That's how they get the job. Stevie Wonder could have seen that that wasn't a foul.

The shot from the other end showed plenty of arm contact.

With that said, you don't make that call when the game is tied and the teams can settle it themselves in overtime. It was far from a hack that had to be called, so just let the clock roll out, go to OT, and let them play.
