just read through Survivor and absolutely loved it. I have read Fight Club as well, and would like to start another Palahniuk book. Was wondering if any of you can recommend another of his novels?I am leaning towards Lullaby or Choke, but I am not sure.Any ideas?

Lullaby and Invisible Monsters are the best two.I forget whether it was Choke or Survivor that I didn't really care for.Diary was pretty mediocre as a whole. And Haunted is just kind of a bitch to read.[Edited on February 7, 2006 at 11:50 PM. Reason : .]

they are entertaining, but i'll second the overrated part. also, after reading most of his books i can say he's somewhat formulaic.

I started reading Choke and didn't really think it was that good, mostly seemed like a rehash of Palahniukisms from previous books with a substandard story. Maybe I'll give Lullaby a shot.

I love the way he writes. I was gonna read Lullaby next.

I'd recommend ChokeSurvivor is my fave.

He's okay, but WAY overrated.

lullaby is definitely different than the usual palahniuk fare. survivor is my favorite.

Stranger Than Fiction is pretty good. Its a collection of articles that he has written for various magazines over the years. As it is divided into short chapters, it makes for very good reading on the crapper.

Haunted disappointed me to no end.Lullaby is my favorite.

^^ oooooh yeah, I forgot how awesome that book was. Really made me want to build myself a castle though...

invisible monsters was awesome. I got it as a birthday present and loved it. After i finish the book i'm on currently I'm going to read Choke. <3 chuck, though Fight Club is a bit over rated]

Invisible Monsters is probably the worst book I've voluntarily read and finished.

I saw one of the twists, but the other was just fucked up, which is probably why I liked it.

It's like a parody of a Chuck Palahniuk book. I don't know. It was very disappointing. It was so bad, that the next book I read, Miss Wyoming, which was also coincidentally about models, was totally ruined because I couldn't stop thinking about how much I hated Invisible Monsters.

invisible monsters should have stayed unpublished. it was his first novel that he optioned to publishers and was rejected. he pretty much rewrote it as fight club, which then became his first published novel.

Choke was cool, I at least liked it enough to finish itBut let's be honest if you already love a Palahniuk novel, my guess is you're probably gonna love them all, so just go ahead and read them

It's my opinion that he wins you over in the first three books by him you read, then slowly loses you over the course of the rest.I really like Lullaby, Invisible Monsters, and Fight Club (read them in that order)Liked Survivor enough, but it fell way into patterns with the other books.Didn't care too much for Choke, never connected at all with Diary. And Haunted was a chore to finish.Stranger than Fiction was a pretty decent read just because it was his style but not his stories.
