Just wondering who else on here is a gun nut, so I know who to spam up whenever I feel like buying stuff en masse (like, say, milsurps and ammo and gear).

The arsenal (pfft ):
Remington 597 .22LR, 450rds
Yugo M48 8mm, 700rds Turk

What kind of scope is on your Mosin? I'm thinking about getting a scout mount for one of my K31s.

the latest project: essex chopped frame with caspian ss officers slide. a 1911 that fits in your back pocket. I should be done building in a month, then off to get hardchromed at tripp research. its damn cool to shoot stuff you have built, but it costs alot more than buying a ready made.

Except no Sig and no 240 on duty... maybe a M249 or M230 though.

Umm...AIMSurplus rates their "Excellent" condition rifles as worth $130; $120 if you get more than one.

Yes M-240B on duty and we are in the process of switching from M9 to Sig 40 as well. We don't carry M249 or M230s.

You have to buy it in person if you don't have an FFL. This goes for any gun.

Yugos are C&R eligible, though.

You mean like a receipt? I'm not sure what you are asking.

It's perfectly legal to own an SKS.

You can get an M1A. There is no such thing as a civvy-legal milsurp M14, thanks to the NFA.

I beleive there may be a few non restricted transfer class 3 m-14's out there that came in under the grace period, would not make any promises though.

I have -
3X yugo sks
20G New England single shot
12G 870 Express
Savage 30-06
BSA stamped 22 bolt gun, no magazine feed
project gun: was an 8mm mauser with a shot out barrel, now has a match, adjustable, 3.0 lb trigger, has been fitted to a synth stock, and is fitted with a .308 heavy barrell(not a bull barrel, yet)
Still need to ream chamber to length, and mount a scope, as well as bead blast+parkerize the whole gun.

Have around 1500 rounds for the sks, not many for the '06 as i handload all my hunting amunition. Got a pile of hot laods right now i need to break down for parts, they hurt to shoot. Worked up to the max load on my data charts with a 168 gr sierra Matchking, load is acurate, but tends to HURT when fired, need to put a weight in the but of the stock when shooting heavy loaded stuff.

There are. They run about $10,000-$15,000, same as M16s.

^That's not a real M14

It's just a cheap NC-Star 4x one - pistol scope for extended eye relief. I advise against getting the flat-top mounts that replace the rear sight. Mine warped, and I have no idea how.

What warped, the mount or the sight base? Which mount did you buy? I was thinking of going with Darrell's.

^^^ I don't recall the brand, but the sight base (the rail that replaces the sight) warped. How a 3/4" piece of steel warped just sitting on the rifle, I will never know. It was nice when I installed it - it was in the case for a couple months, opened it up, and wtf.

Also, the scope in the picture isn't the NC-star one. My mistake - that's a Bushnell that I put on there before I realized my eye can't be 10-12" away from it and still work :p

Then again, the iron sights aren't that bad. Just keep in mind that when they were sighted in at the factory in mother Russia, it was done so with bayonet on. Thus, for 'best results', the bayonet should be on with iron sights.

well, if a crook can find where i store them in another county, break in, and break down 2 steel firedoors set in concrete walls, he can have the guns. Well, at least till i use the time he spends with a hammer to shoot him.

What do you mean by best? The most popular are (in order of quality) WASRs, SARs, and VEPRs.

You don't need an FFL.

Are you sure it was steel? A lot fo the cheap ones are made from aluminum.
