thats what the rumors are on the lgt forums.

it would be bigger but the legacy only weighs 50 lbs more than the wrx now that they all have the 2.5 so if you shortened it it should make it lighter maybe?

I'm pretty sure I remember a Subaru salesperson telling me that the wheelbase of the WRX and Legacy are nearly identical, and the only difference is the larger cabin on the Legacy and about 100lbs of steel. I think the guy even said that they share a lot of common unibody pieces on the lower half of the car.

thats why i want one.... all the speed and perfomace capability w/out the boy racer image (even though i sorta like it)

plan:

purchase lgt
go to pdx... have fun.

eleusis: not really... now the forester is a wrx w/ new skin the legacy & outback is a diff chassis all together. and like i said i think there is only like 50 lbs difference & for satnav, leather heated seats etc. its worth it for me.

I saw a bitchin white forester tonight with white wheels, HID headlamps and tag: FAST WAGN or some permutation, with a really clean bodykit. Gorgeous. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Sounded good too, easily the best four-cylinder I've heard in a while. I want an sti type D bad.... you know the "discreet" model? that'd be bitchin. actually I'd like a legacy wagon with sti underpinnings. yeah. damn.

yay symmetric 4wd! yay unframed windows! yay multiple options for center diffs! yay flat engines! yay turbos! I love subies. I'm gonna get one eventually. Unless audi actually does what I heard about a week ago, which is that they're going to make front-mid-engined sedans by putting the trans IN FRONT of the longitudinal engines, and then running the drive to the rear wheels through/alongside the oil pan for the quattros.

I'm driving a borrowed subaru outback, what a difference between it and a runner. I'm tempted to speed and take corners fast

real motors aren't mounted sideways.
and real cars don't have more power in the stability management computer than in the engine.

but i do love this pic

yea they do...i know straight line is better and much faster...but look at the facts...they are both equally strong (STI little faster)...yet the evo is better looking, unlike the sti which looks like a frog, and it handles better (which means that if racing normally the evo would kill the sti since no road keeps going straight).

[Edited on February 23, 2006 at 8:58 PM. Reason : ^ pic is nice...evo makes it look alot better ]

ohh don't get me wrong i hate the newest model... the last sti was much prettier.

but the evo is all electric ... the subie is all mechanical...

i like things mechanical i can drive the car to compensate on my own

stock for stock you're right but the subie has more potential being that its not as nose heavy and modding it won't clusterfuck the computer. It also has a lower center of mass... so if you tighten up the suspension and make the car overstear it will probably give an evo a very hard time at a track with a decent driver.

but honestly i'd rather drive the car.... not have it drive me.

[Edited on February 23, 2006 at 9:36 PM. Reason : Boxxor 4 life ... heheh flat motors are cool.]
