the only "all star" race is the one in charlotte...this is just an event based on pole winners from last season. They're just trying to hype the 500 and build anticipation.

to make money....they change the rules every year....it sucks....I get pissed....NASCAR keeps changing there shit up.....Bill Elliot could have raced, because he won two 500s.....10 years ago....impossible....before 2003, I bet NASCAR would have changed a rule to let Jr. Race ( let alone Bud). All-Star Race no.....they try to make it that way for money, great to watch, but nothing like the all-star at charlotte.

yep......But it gets better from here..............They only have the twin 150s ( used to be 125s) on Thursday for money.....they made the race longer for money as well.....more "air" time (my favorite word by the way). Which makes the qualifying they had tody pretty much worthless.....

He won the pole at Phoenix, next-to-last race of the year last year, while in a fill-in role in the current car he is driving. Hence he qualifies.

I believe that if you finish in the top 15 (or maybe it's more, i'm not sure on this) you fall back on your qualifying time. Therefore qualifying is important, as are the 150s (i'm so used to saying 125s, just like I still call it Winston Cup). I like this format as racing and qualifying are two entirely different skills on these restrictor plate tracks.

And also I would just like to add, Carl Edwards got boned over w/ NASCARs shit call in this race, which leads me to my usual boycott of this "so-called" form of motorsport.

i think he/she was more suggesting that you could have called him "Mr Nascar" instead of his real name
