what you need to do is just go sign up for a yahoo shop. it will save you money, but most importantly a TON of time. 2/13/2006 1:29:25 AM |

yeah... do something that is already built for you. I built my own from scratch, but it did take a ton of time -- Which is something I was willing to put into it because I wanted to learn it.
However, I dont recommend trying to adapt your own unless you want it to look like shit ... see fatcatts sites.... He used something called noahs classisfieds, which is something that some hosting services will give you as an add-on. 2/13/2006 8:43:57 AM |

while krazedgirl might not have much of an idea of what's going on, I don't think many of the other contributors seem to either, from the general implication that there's something complicated about listing prices and items on an active page... I think you might need like, 6 lines of ASP.NET code and some tooling around in the WYSIWIG for the most basic implementation of this. I'd rate it a hair above "Hello World" in complexity. 2/13/2006 11:49:19 AM |

having built ecommerce sites for a little while, yes it's cake to just set one up.
The problems come when, inevitably, the operator wants to add/move/customize something. Which is ALWAYS the case.
GO WITH YAHOO SHOPS. SERIOUSLY. You are going to end up spending a LOT more to get what you want out of any package solution and have fun setting up those merchant accounts. 2/13/2006 12:23:17 PM |
