I used download a file and I'd click on the name once and change the name from 0986705.jpg to "Jay Davis Noogie" and it would store it np. Recently... if I do that it says "changing the file extension may make the file unstable bla bla..." And it does, I have to keep the extesion.

It's no big deal, but it made me curious.

open a folder

click on tools | folder options menu

then click view tab

then check the option for showing file extension and change how you want.
