If this is about evtimov, wtf mate? He's a decent defender and he is a perfect fit for our offense. he is an excellant passer and shooter for a big man.

Evtimov...he pulls their big man so far out with respect to the 3 that hardly anyone can guard him on the perimeter. 2/16/2006 12:22:48 AM |

Yes, Evtimov may not be the best player we ever had, but he damn sure knows our offense. He's a 5th year player, makes some great passes, and he can drain the 3 when you really need him to. I don't know where you all get off saying he sucks and doesn't need to play. I'd much rather have him on the court than Brackman or Grant. Brackman has more ups and downs than Evtimov and Grant is just horrendous with the basketball. The kid throws it away too much, doesn't realize when to take a shot when time is expiring, and hogs the ball at times only to make a stupid shot. Evtimov, on the otherhand, is a lot smarter player in my opinion. 2/16/2006 7:52:55 AM |

Just to prove how amazingly stupid and gay this comment is, here are five other ACC starters and their PPG versus Ilian's:
Sam Perry (Clemson): 6'5 F: 6.2 PPG John Oates (BC): 6'10 F/C: 3.4 PPG Kyle Visser (WF): 6'11 C: 5.5 PPG Todd Galloway (FSU): 5'11 G: 7.6 PPG Tunji Soroye (UVA): 6'11 C: 2.1 PPG
Evtimov: 6'8 F: 11.6 PPG
Now I know PPG is not the only stat that matters, but invoking blanket statements like "Evtimov is the worst starter in the ACC!!" is just plain dumb as hell. I'm embarassed that you are even a Pack fan. You're probably a closet ECU fan. Plus as long as Jason Cain is starting at UVA, then no one on the Pack squad will ever be the worst starter in the ACC.

evtimov being the worst starter in the acc was a bit of a hyperbole. but i'm not a fan of him either.
there are times when he is good...those times when he is standing outside shooting threes, shooting free throws, or making normal passes.
and there are times when i can't stand him...when he is trying to make a stupid pass that works 1 out of 20 times, when he is in the post doing his stupid hook or scoop shot, or when he is running at a snail's pace. i don't think he's a terrible defender...i'd say slightly below average.
my desire to have him on the court outweighs not having him on the court. partially because evtimov not being out there probably means that gavin grant is. 2/16/2006 12:10:12 PM |

Quote : | "In the release detailing his diagnosis, Evtimov, who spent of a good bit of his life in France, wanted it to be known that the Lisfranc ligament is named for a surgeon in Napolean's army, Jacque Lisfranc. The ligament is the one that was injured when soldiers got their feet caught in the stirrups when they were thrown from their horses during battle.
It's not surprising Evtimov would know something like that since he received his bachelor's degree last spring and is currently enrolled in grad school at NC State." |
