I have some .cda files I would like to play on my computer. I don't have them on a CD, and can't figure out how to convert them to another file type. Help me smart people.

what are the sizes of these files? a .CDA file shouldnt be a file at all, but more of a Windows Shortcut to launch a CD Audio player

try burning an audio cd and then ripping them from that to mp3 with one of the million programs that do that.

there's probably an easier way, but that's the first that comes to mind

^or that

you can't rip music from an audio CD by dragging and dropping tracks from a CD to the hard drive...

yeah she thought she was sending you music, but all she was doing was sending you shortcuts to the tracks on her cd. they're not going to do anything without the cd itself, because they don't contain any music. i assume those files are really, really small. just find out the music and see if you can download it somewhere, or if not, tell her to rip the cd in itunes and send you the mp3s
