I have Millennium on my PC, which is a huge pain in the ass. Anyways, I bought a copy of Norton Antivirus to put on my laptop (which installed without issue) and I figured I'd put a copy on my PC. However, when I go to install the software, it says I need a copy of Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or higher. Even though I have Millennium, I figured I'd give it a shot and try to download it, but it didn't work. Is there any way to get around this requirement so I can install my antivirus software? 2/18/2006 2:55:43 PM |

Because it came like that when I bought it, before it was the general consensus that Millennium sucked. 2/18/2006 3:35:47 PM |

you have to upgrade to 2000/xp. Microsoft no longer supports Windows 9x/Millenium and neither does nearly any company. 2/18/2006 4:08:21 PM |

Windows ME should never be used on a computer.
If it is used (for some reason) that PC should not be connected to the internet ever. 2/18/2006 5:45:06 PM |

Hmmm I just checked out the Microsoft homepage. I think I'm eligible for a free XP upgrade.

^ heh, my computer that had ME on it could never shut down correctly, unless the NIC was physically removed. it was fucking odd. 2/19/2006 2:58:17 AM |

Even Microsoft has admitted that Me blows hard.
if you can get xp for free, go for that, because compared to that piece of shit OS, XP is perfection. 2/19/2006 4:40:01 AM |
