Quote : | "About Paint.NET is image and photo manipulation software designed to be used on computers that run Windows 2000, XP, Vista, or Server 2003. It supports layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools.
It started development at Washington State University as an undergraduate senior design project mentored by Microsoft, and is currently being maintained by some of the alumni that originally worked on it. Originally intended as a free replacement for the MS Paint software that comes with Windows, it has grown into a powerful yet simple tool for photo and image editing. The programming language used to create Paint.NET is C#, with a small amount of C++ for setup and shell-integration related functionality." |

The bulk of Paint.NET is written in C#, with only a small amount of code related to setup and shell-integration written in C++." |
hmm...looks like it's been out for a while but i've never heard of it. gonna give it a try - looks very similar to these other programs but the free aspect might be worth it to recommend to people.]2/26/2006 12:45:02 AM |

I've used it...it's not bad. Except sometimes it tends to "die" when it comes to doing some paint operations. Like I've had it hang a few times after using the magic wand. But, compared to the gimp port to windows its most def. more stable. And it's very easy to use...though sometimes you wish it would do just a tiny bit more than it does. 2/26/2006 1:39:53 AM |

why would someone want to be an idiot and draw all of that in paint when you can do it much easier in another drawing program? 2/26/2006 8:13:40 AM |

that's kind of the point. He's obviously a great artist and could make something spectacular in a "real program", but there would be nothing special about that - tons of good artists can make good drawings in expensive photo suites. He was just showcasing what he could do with what is probably the simplest and most basic drawing program available 2/26/2006 8:23:01 AM |

It's not all that great. Just time consuming.
It you want to admire people for using archaic tools to produce digital art, go back to the ANSI scene. MS Paint hasn't got shit on that. 2/26/2006 9:33:17 AM |

hey, wow. a bunch of haters discrediting it when they couldn't come even close to doing the same, even with all the time in the world. what a surprise. I mean the simple fact is, he has skills and creativity. regardless of what tool he used, it's still a cool drawing - making it in Paint just makes it more impressive.
but, of course, most of you are much better than that, so i'll just back out of this thread quietly. 2/26/2006 9:40:22 AM |

I must admit that that is impressive, based upon what tool he used. 2/26/2006 9:44:54 AM |
