Does anyone know if Time Warner is going to put all the games on at once?? I know DirecTV has that Mega March madness but I'm not sure if that means TWC Digital won't have the games on 255-258 like they have in the past..

oh and for those w/o Digital Cable who want to see out of market games you can live on your computer if you sign up via this link

I would imagine TWC will broadcast on all the digital channels like they have in the past. At least I hope so.

I know in a lot of markets that if satellite gets the rights to something, then digital cable can't put a package together for it...but I don't know how it's been done in the past here. I think it would be similar to how back home we had to get satellite if we wanted the NFL package, but you had to get digital cable if you wanted the NBA package...

did satellite have a package in the past when TWC did theirs?

i wish they would add 4-5 more wral hd channels so that theyd show all games in HD. theyre all being shot in HD but the only games we'll see in HD are the ones on 255.

Lots of misinformation here.
Time Warner has never and will never offer an NCAA tournament package. It is available locally from WRAL, which is available on TWC. Also, not ALL games are produced in HD. High definition coverage will be available from four of the eight first round sites. Since this means there will be two HD games going on at one time, WRAL will add a second HD channel (just like they did last year) on TWC to allow you to see all games that are produced in HD in highdef. Due to bandwidth restrictions, the HD games will NOT be available OTA during the first weekend.

CBS cant broadcast 4 games at once...they do not have the infrastructure to support it. This is why CBS still only did 3 NFL games a week in HD while FOX was doing up to 6 this past season. So yeah, CBS does have the ability to do 3 at once, but maybe there are other reasons they have chose not to go with 6 of the eight sites this year.

CBS IS broadcasting the Big Ten tournament semifinals as well as the Big Ten, SEC, and Pac-10 tournament finals in HD. Since some of these games are during the same time ACC tournament games are on (which arent in HD thanks to Raycom), feel free to email WRAL and request that they broadcast these games on their HD channel and leave the ACC tourney to their SD channel.

^ huh? They've done that the past 5 years in Raleigh..

They used the 3 CBS digital stations (255, 256, and 257) and one of the FOX digital stations (251 I think)..

[Edited on February 28, 2006 at 2:49 PM. Reason : oh you're speaking about HD.. I don't care about that. I just want a broadcast of ALL teh games..]

oh and I realize it's not Time Warner but rather WRAL, but the ONLY cable provider around NCSU is Time Warner so it's easier to put it that way..

Contra is correct on all accounts. With digi-cable through TWC you will be able to see a broadcast of every game if you want to(2 HD at a time). That is all public and through CBS. The package that is on direct-tv is the ability to have all 4 games on the screen at one time I believe. That's the only competitive advantage they will have with their package.
