i just looked at 308s on eBay, and noticed that at least one of them has an 85-mph speedo.

I'm pretty sure that, for a while, all cars sold in the US were required by law to have an 85-mph speedo, no more, no less. Stupid late 70's/early 80's restrictions. I've seen some Vettes of that era with one as well.

I'm sure the 348 is a superior car dynamically, and more powerful. I've just always loved the styling of the 328/308. It's reached "classic" status, whereas a lot of the elements of the 348 still scream "early nineties" to me though the overall shape is good. The 355 is a big improvement.

^I don't so much think it's ugly so much as I think it's a major step in the wrong direction given the starting point of the 360 modena. its like they're really trying hard to do something as ugly as possible given the relative beauty they began with. the narrow headlights are one thing. I just don't get, and the raised taillights that look so cool on the flat enzo look weird on the wedgier and stumpier f430. check out the delicate tilt from the bodywork the taillights have on the f355. that's artful. too bad they blow up. lol. jk
