personally i have no opinion other than probably germany but that's becuase I have a tech background and somewhat speak the language, so hardly a 'general' rule.

let's see...nicaragua probably tops my list...the philippines was pretty cool too...dominican republic was nice...but i think i love buenos aires (and argentina) the most!

although there are far too many people there already, i dont think it needs anymore right now!!
cheap labor allows for a luxurious lifestyle if you like being waited on hand and foot. it also has a rich in culture and diverse history.

Lady, what length of time are we talking about? A month I could see myself living in some pretty desolate places and enjoying b/c I know I would be getting out. A year my circumstances change ... 3-5 years also changes it ... 5-10 years also changes it ... etc. etc.

I'd live in (in order)
- kenya
- morocco
- zambia
- south africa
- netherlands
- germany
- japan
- syria

for kenya, zambia, morocco, and SA, emotional attachment plays a big part, but i know that in 2 of the 3, i could make a living. the netherlands, germany, and japan all appeal b/c of their culture, but b/c i could start a career there that i could easily bring back to the US if needed. Syria is a mix of both categories.

Norway - 'cause I love the people, the cities, the landscapes, the language. Their tax system makes it hard, but I'd be willing to live with it. I'd probably pick somewhere along the west coast so I can have the beauty of the fjords. Ireland would be a close second though.

Sweden's not as great as it's made up to be. I spent 6 months there, and it was fun and interesting, but I wouldn't want to live there again. But Sweden is home to Ikea, Volvo, and Saab, so props to them.

Ironically, I met more Finnish people with the sterotypical blonde hair-blue eye look than Swedes.
