Yes I read that article and it pissed me off too. Basically, Margot succeded in using the catch phrase "march madness" into making me (and some others here) read some totally gay crap about how women should pretend to like basketball so their boyfriends wont ignore them during the game.

Not me at all. I believe that even if I didn't grow up hating those Tarholes, that I'm a sensible and intelligent enough person to see through their douchebaggery and arrogance and realize what they are. And even if they never beat us in any sporting event in the past 10 years, I'd still hate them with vigor because of people like our beloved Margot.

Emory definitely wins!

I think my main problem is the unfounded arrogance and douchebaggery. Until the late 60's, UNC got owned by us. Even in the 70's and 80's, we were extremely competetive and consistently played better. It was in the 90's when things went south for NC State (Less Robinson), which gave rise to this notion that UNC was somehow better than NC State. They expect credibility for polls that show them as tops in education, when we all know that the ones conducting the polls went to UNC....

I grew up in a foothills town in North Carolina, and all I heard was UNC/ASU/WFU. My dad made a great effort in bringing me up right, and teaching me about the great teams and acheivements NC State had over the years. At age 10, I knew I wanted to go to NC State. When time came close for me to apply for college, I had invitations and applications from Yale, Tulane, and Clemson. Yale sent me three applications asking me to apply and Tulane was going to waive out-of-state tuition. I only applied to one school, NC State. I wanted to be an engineer, and now I am.

Hating UNC has been in my blood since I was very young. My brother and I got a UNC basketball once from a school contest, and I fed it to the dog. I got picked on for being a state fan all my life, and I think that helps in the hatred. Most of the UNC fans I knew growing up couldn't find Chapel Hill on a map, and probably half of them thought UNC was in the state capital....

So, in summary, GO TO HELL CAROLINA! YOU GO TO HELL!!
